Chris Dyer was born in South Boston, Virginia in 1972 to Cindy, a bank teller, and Randy, a state trooper.  Chris grew up on or near military bases in Virginia and Germany where he attended Hanau American High School for two years.  He returned to Virginia to learn to drive, get a part-time job, and get his diploma from Laurel Park High School in Martinsville.

After graduating, Chris enlisted in the U.S. Navy in October of 1990.  In boot camp he accepted the opportunity to be part of the elite U.S. Navy Ceremonial Guard in Washington D.C.  He performed in ceremonies at the Pentagon, White House, and Arlington National Cemetery for two years.  Chris then attended Intelligence Specialist “A” School and was assigned to the historic U.S.S. Enterprise in Norfolk.  He volunteered to go to sea while the “Big E” was in dry dock and was transferred to the U.S.S. George Washington for a six-month Mediterranean deployment.  While attached to the G.W. he held a top secret clearance and provided intelligence to air crews and commanders in support of the No Fly Zones in Bosnia and Iraq.

Chris left the Navy and returned to Martinsville to attend Patrick Henry Community College for a year before being bitten by the acting bug.  He packed his bags and rode a Greyhound bus to New York City.  While attending classes Chris worked as a hotel manager in Midtown Manhattan.  He met his future wife Debra, and together they decided to move to Las Vegas for warmer weather and to be closer to Debra’s family there.

In March of 2000, Chris joined the U.S. Army Reserve as an Imagery Analyst with a top secret clearance.  He was attached to units providing support for operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. After six years he again returned to being a civilian.

Chris has lived and worked in Southern Nevada for ten years.  He has been a CAT bus driver, a garbage man, and finally settled in to the safer confines of the restaurant industry.  He now lives in North Las Vegas with Debra, his kids Rachael (5) and Joe (3), and his mother-in-law Barbara.  He enjoys practicing martial arts and running.  He completed the Las Vegas marathon in December and plans to run it again this year.
